10th Multilevel Conference, Utrecht University, 9-10 April, 2015

Dr. Tsigilis, Dr. Gregoriadis, Dr. Grammatikopoulos and Dr. Zachopoulou participated with a presentation in the 10th international conference of Multilevel Analysis organized by the University of Utrecht in the 9th and 10th of April. More specifically, Dr. Tsigilis presented his presentation about a part of the results of the main study of the Early Q-Thales project with the title "Multilevel factorial validity of the Student-Teacher Relationship Scale: an item parceling approach".  In the link below you can find the full program of the conference and the abstract of the presentation.

 21st CENTURY ACADEMIC FORUM CONFERENCE AT HARVARD

Dr. Zachopoulou, Dr. Grammatikopoulos, Dr. Gregoriadis and Dr. Kouli, participated in the international conference "21st Century Academic Forum Conference" that was organized in Harvard University, in Boston USAS from 8 to 10 of March 2015.

Dr. Zachopoulou, Dr. Grammatikopoulos, Dr. Gregoriadis and Dr. Kouli, participated in four presentations regarding the results of the pilot and the main study of the Early Q-Thales project.

More specifically, the following presentations were presented:
(a) Examining the relationship between Greek early childhood education quality and young children's mathematical competence,
(b) Evaluating the quality of movement activities in the Greek early childhood education settings,
(c) Classroom interactions and teachers' workplace wellbeing in the Greek early childhood education system, and
(d) Evaluating children's motor creativity in the Greek early childhood education system.

'EARLY CHANGE Workshop’:

International Perspectives on Early Childhood Education






The Coordinator of Early Q – THALES project Prof. E. Zachopoulou, presented the project and results of the pilot study in the ‘EARLY CHANGE Workshop: International Perspectives on Early Childhood Education’, which took place in Thessaloniki (Venue: Convention Center of Bank of Piraeus), on 25th of January 2014.
Academics and researchers from 7 countries (Greece, Portugal, Finland, Denmark, Brazil, United Kingdom and Germany) presented topics related on good practices in early childhood education, observation as assessment tool, etc.

6th International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation, Σεβίλλη, Ισπανία, 18 – 20 Νοεμβρίου 2013
Prof. E. Zachopoulou, Dr. O. Kouli, Dr. V. Grammatikopoulos, & Dr. A. Gregoriadis participated in the ICERI 2013 (http://iated.org/iceri2013/) and presented the results of the pilot study through two papers entitled:
1. Adaptation of ECERS-E in the Greek educational settings: preliminary results from the “THALES – EARLY Q” project
2. The ECERS-R as a predictor of children’s outcomes: the effect of ‘Language and Reasoning’ scores on the PPVT-IV results






   



LINQ Conference 2013



‘EARLY Q’ project was presented in the Learning Innovations and Quality Conference - LINQ 2013. This presentation was part of the 3rd Parallel Session ‘Selected EU & International Project (part 1), under the title ‘Quality Management: Evaluation, Standards and Certification’.

Early-Q project in two greatly respected international conferences

24th EECERA conference ‘US, THEM & ME: Universal, Targeted or Individuated Early Childhood Programmes’ , (7-10 September, Crete, Greece)

BERA annual conference 2014, Institute of Education, University of London, UK (23-25 September)

 
   

Dr. Zachopoulou, Dr. Bhering, Dr. Gregoriadis, Dr. Grammatikopoulos and Irida Alexopoulou participated and presented further results and findings from the pilot study in the biggest annual European conference on early childhood education (EECERA) and the biggest conference on research in education in the UK (BERA).
International audience, academics, and researchers attended the symposia organized by the research team members of the Early-Q project showing great interest in the project’s further findings. Thoughtful discussions followed the presentations and many topics regarding the project’s objectives were analyzed.

16th Biennial EARLI Conference for Research on Learning and Instruction

 

Dr. Zachopoulou, Dr. Grammatikopoulos and Dr. Gregoriadis participated in the " 16th Biennial EARLI Conference for Research on Learning and Instruction" that was organized in Cyprus University of Technology, in Limassol, Cyprus from 25 to 28 of August 2015. The conference was organized by EARLI (European Association for Research in Learning and Instruction).
Dr. Zachopoulou, Dr. Grammatikopoulos and Dr. Gregoriadis participated in three presentations regarding the results of the main study of the Early Q-Thales project.

More specifically, the following presentations were presented:

environments
(b) Using ECERS-R to examine the quality of Greek ECE environments: Results from Early-Q

16th Biennial EARLI Conference for Research on Learning and Instruction

 

Η Δρ. Ζαχοπούλου, ο Δρ. Γραμματικόπουλος και ο Δρ. Γρηγοριάδης συμμετείχαν στο διεθνές συνέδριο "16th Biennial EARLI Conference for Research on Learning and Instruction" το οποίο πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Cyprus University of Technology, στη Λεμεσσό της Κύπρου, την περίοδο 25-29 Αυγούστου του 2015. Το συνέδριο διοργανώθηκε από τον Ευρωπαϊκό φορέα EARLI (European Association for Research in Learning and Instruction)..

Η Δρ. Ζαχοπούλου, ο Δρ. Γραμματικόπουλος και ο Δρ. Γρηγοριάδης συμμετείχαν με 3 παρουσιάσεις οι οποίες αφορούσαν αποτελέσματα από την κύρια έρευνα του έργου Early Q-Thales.

25th EECERA Annual Conference -Innovation, Experimentation and Adventure in Early Childhood

Dr. Zachopoulou, Dr. Grammatikopoulos, Dr. Gregoriadis, and Dr. Kouli participated in the "25th EECERA Annual Conference -Innovation, Experimentation and Adventure in Early Childhood" that was organized in Autonomous university of Barcelona, Spain from 7 to 10 of September 2015. The conference was organized by EECERA (European Early Childhood Education Research Association).
For the dissemination of the results of the main study of the project, they organized a symposium titled ‘Evaluation of the early childhood education in Greece: Results from the main study of “Thales Early-Q” project’. Three presentations were made in this symposium:

More specifically, the following presentations were presented:
(a) Evaluating the Early Childhood Education & Care quality. Initial results of the application of ECERS-R in Greece
(b) Examining the association between classroom-level interactions and the quality of teacher-child relationships
(c) Psychometric properties of the Greek version of ECERS-R using an item response framework

Additionally, two more presentations were made for the dissemination of the results of the pilot and the main study of the project. These were the following:
(d) Quality environment for movement activities in Greek Early Childhood Education
(e) Quality in Early Childhood Education and Care Environments: A comparison between day care centers and kindergartens in Greece
